The City of Sierra Madre issued evacuation orders and warnings Wednesday for several areas in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains as a storm system is expected to move in.

In Sierra Madre, residents were building wooden walls outside their yards and packing up their cars to leave Wednesday as they braced for possible mudslides with this week's storm — facing mandatory evacuations that will extend into Thursday.

Laura Aguilar, the Deputy Manager of the City of Sierra Madre, spoke with KTLA 5's Annie Rose Ramos on the preparedness efforts and evacuation orders in the community ahead of a winter storm set to slam Southern California.
