The Blackhawks, in return for Hagel, got two first-round picks (2023 and 2024), and two players (Boris Katchouk and Taylor Raddysh). The 2023 first-round pick ended up turning into Oliver Moore. As for 2024, they used that first to move up two spots with the New York Islanders and they selected Sacha Boisvert.

For the second time in five days, the Chicago Blackhawks took on the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Tuesday night tilt, which took place at Amalie Arena, is the first of a three-game road trip for the Blackhawks,

Connor Bedard’s sharp angle shot from the right corner of the offensive zone knotted the score, and Chicago rookie Landon Slaggert gave the visitors a 2-1 lead on his snap shot from atop the left faceoff circle with 1:46 left in the period.

But Blackhawks star Connor Bedard scored the tying goal with five seconds left on Chicago’s one-man-advantage with a remarkable tight-angle shot that found a tiny opening between goaltender Jonas Johansson’s left shoulder and the crossbar.

There was just under two minutes left in the period when Slaggert scored and they took that 2-1 lead into the third. There, Ryan Donato scored one off a Seth Jones shot that bounced right to him off the end board. Once Teuvo Teravainen made it 4-1 with an empty netter, the game was sealed.

Chicago rookie Landon Slaggert gave Chicago their first lead of the night on a one-time shot from the top of the left faceoff circle. A Chicago shot missed the net wide but bounced around the front of the net to a waiting Ryan Donato, who extended the Blackhawks’ lead from the left side of the goal.

Slaggert put the Blackhawks ahead 2-1 at 18:14 with a snap shot from the top of the left circle off a drop pass from Lukas Reichel. Slaggert was playing his first NHL game of the season, having been recalled from Rockford of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

After a nightmare Northern road trip where the Lightning went 1-3, Tampa Bay (26-19-3) finally comes home to Amalie Arena for another tilt against the Chicago Blackhawks (15-29-5). The Lightning are happy to be home for the first time in 10 days.
