An 18-wheeler crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 10 in Harrison County is leading to lane closures authorities said could last several hours. The 18-wheeler crashed in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 23, between Exit 20 and Exit 24 at Menge Avenue.
According to an FHP case update Friday evening, the smashup began when a 52-year-old Mississippi man "failed to observe the heavy traffic ahead" while traveling eastbound in the left inside lane of travel. He lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown off the bike.

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to an 18-wheeler crash on I-10 Wednesday morning. The crash happened in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 21. So far, no word on any injuries. As of 11:30 a.m., crews have cleared the scene and all lanes are back open.
