Due to stringent documentation requirements, TD Bank refuses to cash a Florida property owner’s $20K insurance check. They want documents that may take months following back-to-back hurricanes in the state.

NASA released a timelapse video that shows the eye of Hurricane Milton as seen from the International Space Station orbiting 275 miles above Earth.

In Florida, the Panhandle experienced record-breaking snow, with Milton recording 8.8 inches, breaking a previous record set in 1954.

Storm Warning is in effect for the entire Interstate 10 corridor where snow and ice accumulations could reach 4" over the next 24 hours. Pensacola will likely see the most snowfall in the state while greater amounts of ice are anticipated for cities such as Tallahassee and Jacksonville.

Snow totals in Louisiana have broken records. Parts of Florida, Texas and Georgia have also accumulated several inches of snow.

Not only did Florida get record snowfall, but it was colder in Pensacola this morning than it was in Anchorage, Alaska.

Snow in the Sunshine State doesn't happen very often. But it did. And here are the photos from Pensacola to Yulee to prove it.

Pensacola had official total of 7.6 inches, while Milton hit 8.8. Unofficial totals by Weather Service could be as high as 9.8 inches.

Florida's 24-hour snowfall record has been surpassed as a "historic" winter storm swept along the Gulf Coast. Although the record-breaking snow—a somewhat rare sight in Florida—may be impressive to behold, heavy winter weather can disrupt travel and create hazardous driving conditions.

Prior to this week, the record for most snow in a 24-hour period in Florida was 4 inches back in 1954. What’s remarkable is that this storm featured sleet and freezing rain too, but it was still mainly snow that fell in Northern Florida.

Snow totals are still being reported across Florida, but as of Wednesday morning, it appears Pensacola has broken the snow record for the state.
