Elon Musk, senior advisor to US President Donald Trump, has declared he 'considers himself American' - but people have spotted a glaring issue.

More than 250,000 Canadian citizens and residents have signed a parliamentary petition urging Canada to revoke Elon Musk’s citizenship and passport.

Elon Musk immigrated to Canada in 1989 and holds a Canadian citizenship, which he acquired through his Canadian-born mother, Maye Musk, according to Walter Isaacson's biography of the billionaire.

More than 240,000 Canadians have signed a parliamentary petition asking the government to strip Elon Musk of his Canuck citizenship and passport for going "against the national interest" of the country.

The petition accused Elon Musk of attacking Canadian sovereignty. The billionaire adviser to President Trump responded on X, saying “Canada is not a real country.”

In the U.K. a recent attack aimed at Musk was pointed. A U.K.-based group called “Everyone Hates Elon” took credit for a poster seen in London that also went viral.
