A fire broke out at Chalmette Refining Friday afternoon after residents reported hearing a large explosion, according to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office. The fire was under control as of around 2 p.m., and no injuries were reported, John Rahaim, director of St. Bernard Homeland Security, said.
Officials said no injuries were reported after an explosion and fire at Chalmette Refining on Friday afternoon.
Law enforcement is currently on scene of an explosion in Chalmette.
