Third baseman Mark Vientos was scratched from the New York Mets' lineup Friday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers because of abdominal soreness, and left fielder Brandon Nimmo exited the game with a stiff neck.

The New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers played out a thriller series opener on Friday. It was a double blow for the Mets, though, as they lost the game and also saw Brandon Nimmo make an early exit due to injury concerns.

The Mets reached down to Triple-A Syracuse, called up Jared Young and plugged him right into the lineup against the Dodgers.
