Long after time with Mick Jagger in the “Swinging London" of the 1960s, Faithfull endured as a torch singer and survivor of the lifestyle she once embodied.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of the singer, songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull," a statement said. "Marianne passed away peacefully in London today, in the company of her loving family.

Faithfull, who famously dated Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger in the 1960s, was nominated for a Grammy for her celebrated seventh album, "Broken English."
