Less than four months after its release, EA's Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers starting next month. EA's Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be available to claim from March 4 for PlayStation Plus subscribers, according to a new post on the PlayStation Blog.

Well, here's a surprise. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be part of Sony's PlayStation Plus Essential Games for March. BioWare's big role-playing game only launched four months ago, so it's a surprise to see it included within the subscription service so soon.

The inclusion of the recent Dragon Age: The Veilguard is an interesting choice, possibly spurred by the game falling short of EA’s sales projections and leading to mass layoffs within its developer BioWare, leaving the company with under 100 employees to develop the next Mass Effect.

PlayStation Plus subscribers’ free Essential games for March 2025 are Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Wednesday. Players can download the trio of games beginning March 4.
