CLEARWATER, Fla. — A large crack in a support column forced the evacuation of a 12-story condo building in Clearwater, putting Florida’s ongoing condo safety overhaul back into the spotlight.

A high-rise condo in Florida's Sand Key was evacuated on Tuesday after cracks were discovered. The affected building is South Beach Condos III at 1460 Gulf Blvd, the Clearwater Police Department said.
